Directions and Map
Visitors from all corners of the globe come to Laura. Many arrive by boat; others have made the trip by helicopter, bicycle, charter bus, limousine and by horseback. Whereas, Laura often took the train from New Orleans, in these more modern times, most visitors arrive by car.
Today, the plantation named for Laura stands surrounded by sugarcane, midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, located on the Great River Road (HWY 18). Only 35 miles from the New Orleans Int’l Airport, Laura Plantation is easy to find.
Getting to Laura
FROM NEW ORLEANS: Take I-10 West towards Baton Rouge. Go 28 miles past the New Orleans Airport to Exit 194 (South to Gramercy). Go 4 miles south on HWY 641 to the BIG Mississippi River bridge. Cross the bridge & immediately take the FIRST ramp exit on your right. At the levee, turn LEFT and drive 4 miles to Laura Plantation.
FROM BATON ROUGE: Take I-10 East towards New Orleans. Go approx. 38 miles to Exit 194. Take the Exit South to the BIG Mississippi River bridge. Cross the bridge and take the FIRST ramp exit on your right. At the levee, turn LEFT and drive 4 miles to Laura Plantation.
