GETTING THERE

Visitors from all corners of the globe come to Laura. Many arrive by boat (Delta Queen Steamboat and River Barge Excursion Lines); others make the trip by helicopter, bicycle, charter bus, limousine, and by horseback. Laura herself came by train from New Orleans.

Today, the plantation named for her stands surrounded by sugarcane, midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, on the Great River Road (HWY 18). Most visitors travel by car. Only 35 miles from New Orleans International Airport, Laura Plantation is easy to find.













DIRECTIONS

FROM NEW ORLEANS: Take I-10 West towards Baton Rouge. Go 28 miles past the New Orleans Airport to Exit 194 (South to Gramercy). Go 4 miles south on HWY 641 to the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Cross the River. At HWY 18, on the other side of the river, turn left and go 4 miles to Laura Plantation.

FROM BATON ROUGE: Take I-10 East towards New Orleans. Go approximately 38 miles to Exit 194. Take the Exit South 4 miles to the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Cross River. At HWY 18, on the other side of the river, turn left and go 4 miles to Laura Plantation.
